Terminology
As with any form of writing, there has developed, over time, a list of shorthand abbreviations to help us better express what we mean. While you don't have to use them, it is recommended.
The list (with examples) is as follows:

AFAIK As Far As I Know - Disagreement based on a point of information
AFAIR As Far As I Remember - Disagreement based on possibly faulty information (remembered incorrectly)
ASAP: As Soon As Possible - please hurry.
BTW: By The Way - a side note.
CT: Care Taker - the manager(s) of the APA
Chronie: Chronicler - a contributor to the APA
DM: Distribution Manager - person who manages the APA, often used in role-playing APAs instead of CT.
FNUE A friendly insult (which no one will explain to me :)
FYI: For Your Information - just to let you know, same as BTW (By The Way), but more formal
HHOK: Ha Ha, Only Kidding - the preceding comment should be taken in jest only.
HHO½K: Ha Ha, Only Half Kidding - the preceding comment was meant in jest although it makes a semiserious point.
IIRC: If I Remember Correctly - Disagreement on faulty information - polite way of saying you are wrong.
IMC: In My Campaign - This is the way it is done in my campaign - you might do this differently.
IMHO: In My Humble Opinion - the preceding comment is a strictly personal view.
IMO: In My Opinion - the preceding/following comment is a personal (but un-humbled) view.
MC: Mailing Comment - comment and/or constructive criticism from one APA member to another.

S, AS: Smiling, Always Smiling - the preceding comment, although serious, is meant in a non-hostile manner
RE or RYMCT or RYC: Referring to, or Referring to Your Mailing Comment To, or Referring to Your Comment - Speaking in reference to some previous article by a Chronie.
ROTFL: Rolling on the Floor Laughing - Something too funny for words.
YMMV: Your mileage may vary - The preceding comment/section worked for me. It may not work for you - a warning that the section is opinionated or conditional.
